EVERY WRITER WANTS TO WRITE DEEPLY
But few know what writing deeply actually means and/or involves. One such writer, Dr. Eric Maisel, a psychotherapist and creativity coach, writing in his book Deep Writing: 7 Principles That Brings Ideas to Life (Tarcher/Putnam) -now sadly out of print, defined deep writing as:
“Writing passionately and well about those things that really matter to you.”
Are you a deep writer? Do you find yourself writing passionately and well about the themes, ideas, and positions that are most important to you?
- Do you know the major themes of your life?
- Have you identified them?
- Have you written passionately about them?
- Have you ever been in a position that required you to defend them?
Each of the books I’ve published were written in a deep state of flow; that magical, almost surreal culmination of inspiration, determination, and perspiration. I’m not trying to be cute, because the reality is that writing passionately and well about what we care deeply about requires all three.
Unless you’ve also experienced the combination of these three factors, chance are that you’ve not yet tapped nor immersed yourself in the refreshing waters of writing deeply.
AN OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN THE PROCESS – GRATIS
I’m starting a new book project in late September 2016 and you can come along for the ride. From start to finish for this new book, I’ll be writing a private, weekly update letter that you can receive free of charge as I write The Zen of Deeper Writing. When I’m finished writing the book, I’ll send you a copy of all the updates in a PDF format to refer to whenever you wish.
Think of it as a front row seat to what it’s like -the ups and the downs- of writing a book. This is an occasional newsletter and you’ll get my thoughts describing the processes I go through, the decisions I make, and the wins/disappointments along the way.
Eventually, the entire collection of updates will become a paid product, but if you act right now, you’ll get it for free.
No strings, no up-sells. This is simply an invitation to see the processes involved. My hope is that it will help you write your first or next book.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
It couldn’t be simpler. You’ll fill in a form and then check your email address to confirm your subscription to the update. That’s it!
