Have you ever experienced a frustrating lack of clarity?
When your vision isn’t clear, it’s maddening. It can lead to feeling bummed, confused, and blocked.
HERE’S A QUICK FIX
Pack one bag. Just include what you’d want to have if your home burned down.
For me that would be my Macbook, phone, two pants, three socks, three underwear, and three black wool T-shirts. Maybe a jacket, and then my wallet and some cash.
Everything else you can think of is easily replaceable.
Then go somewhere. It doesn’t matter if it’s via car, plane, train or just on your own two feet.
Have an adventure for three days. Sit in cafes or coffeeshops and don’t get on Facebook or Twitter. Take photos of your journey. Meet new people and get to know them the limited time you meet.
Listen to their eyes.
Hear their visions.
Write about what you learned when you camp or book a room for the night.
Then go home. Your life will still be there, but you will be different.
You will have new stories, memories, and perhaps a new vision.
RINSE AND REPEAT OFTEN
Admittedly, this probably isn’t a total and complete fix. Sorry, but it got you out of your familiar surroundings filled with your familiar stuff and presented you with a new experience and maybe even a new friend or two.
I do this about three times a year. It always helps me to gain a new perspective, release the old and open myself to the new.
With this activity always comes a new form of clarity.
